Comments about the Tibetan Technology Center.
I am very impressed with everything Yahel and the team on the ground has managed to do with very limited resources. I am also very happy to see that TCV (Phuntsok la) has established Tibetan Technology Center and provided valuable local support for Yahel.
In the absence of Dorji Tsering la as the DITG leader, is there someone who is replacing him? I really would like to see someone volunteer and take on that role and make DITG, as an example in the Tibetan community and show what one can achieve when you work together as a team with shared values and goals.

I have recently started a non-profit organization called Tibet Innovations. You will find below, "TI Mission Statement" for your information. Through TI, I want to help and serve my community in various different projects - including information & communication technology - and my ultimate goal is to promote self-reliance in community-initiated development projects. If there is anything we can do from this end to help out, please do not hesitate to ask.
Mission Statement:
Tibet Innovations promotes self-reliance in community-initiated development projects, primarily in Tibetan communities in South and Central Asia. It serves as a bridging mechanism between grassroots projects and professional capacity providers.
Tibet Innovations promotes community-based economic development in settlements where young people are at risk of long-term joblessness. Lack of livelihood options for Tibetan youth has led them to seek economic opportunity elsewhere, thereby weakening the linguistic and cultural base of Tibetan communities.
Tibet Innovations adopts the view that “sustainable” development includes self-sufficiency within a measurable amount of time. Community-level projects, however, are often too small or lacking in technical skills to attract the interest of established non-governmental support groups that could assist them to become viable.
Tibet Innovations provides services to projects, which have been conceived and designed by the communities they will serve. Services include training in project management, skill development, technical capacity building, and linkages to other similar projects. The broad network of Tibet Innovations affiliated professionals allows us to connect specific projects with funding required, as well as with professional expertise in the areas of research, communications technology, systems management and public advocacy.
